About
My name is Arthur. But you can call me Arthak.
I always have something burning inside me: the days are always too short for me.
Do first, understand later
I understand things by making them.
Since I was a kid, it has been a loop, in monomaniac phases. Drawing, music, writing, tattoos, development, 3D, video editing... The hardest part is not doing or finishing, but having to choose.
"Make things fast, break things, fix things" — that's a bit my mantra: it's never perfect, but it's my way of understanding.
Tattoo
I get tattooed in Grenoble, at Studio Pixel.
Since 2018, so it's starting to happen.
Even after 8 years of tattooing, I still have imposter syndrome.
Cellophane & Vaseline
With Cellophane & Vaseline, I talk about creativity (and a bit of tattooing).
The doubts, the tips, but above all, having a good time with people you appreciate, simply.
Code & open source
I also build software (mainly components and websites, most available on GitHub).
With tattooing, I never had worries about "selling" my work. But development is another story; outside of jobs in the trade, I have almost always made my code available freely.
I don't know if it's because (or thanks to) this book Richard Stallman and the free software revolution (Sam Williams, Richard Stallman & Christophe Masutti), but there is something beautiful in making your code available.
Tools
The apps and tools I use day to day are listed on this page.
